Camera Back In Business, Dogs Are Not Stationary.

YAY! Jayson, Bree's wonderful husband, fixed my camera! Apparently the problem had something to do with the mass amounts of sand within the camera....6.6 Oops...
Anyway, I got a couple pictures of Gus and Evie under the tree. I would've tried to get the whole tree, but our living room is currently incredibly cluttered and it would've shown the ghetto comp desk our massive 500lb tv is on. (I'm amazed I could even fit a tree INTO this place! Crazy!
Also, you'll notice it's either Evie or Gus. Getting those two to both sit still under the tiny tree long enough to take a picture while sitting side-by-side? Not possible. Though they do look adorable individually.
I'll try to get some more pics up once the house gets cleaned up. I'm hoping to get a family pic of the dogs, Jake and I in front of the tree. I would attempt to force Sabbie into it as well, but we only have so many hands. ^_^ lol

Evaine the Porkie

Jake and I got a new puppy. Her name is Evaine and she is 2/4 yorkie and 1/4 pomeranian. We got her on thursday and Gus loves her. He lets her crawl all over him and chew on him and he doesn't mind at all. Once in a while he'll play back and gently mouth her, but he's always nice about it.

Day at the Beach

We went to the beach one day over the summer with my friend Meghan, her boyfriend Alex, and her brother's dog, Uzi. She brought her camera and managed to snap some cute pics of our baby.
There's a pic of Jake and I with Alex chillin' in the background.
A pic of Jake and I and the fire we busted our butts to make. We literally had to hunt down twigs to build that thing, and they seriously doubted we could do it. We proved them wrong.
Then Meghan decided to BURY my dog. *shakes head* Weirdo.
And we had to show Meghan Gus's Mountain Goat-like qualites, so we climbed a sheer rock face and let him follow us up. Just look at the trees and rock slides in the background to see the angle he climbed. He's SERIOUSLY a mtn goat.

Lack of posts...

My camera is on the fritz. Jake and I took Gus to a park last month and were taking pictures of us making him swim and it decided it had had enough. 7 months of life and it was content. *sigh* So now I'm waiting for an opportunity to beg my friend's hubby into fixing it for me. ;.; Here's a couple pics that we got the day it died...
We were trying to make Gus go swimming, he wasn't a fan, and the only way we ACTUALLY got him to was to carry him in, after he initially realized it wasn't his thing. We didn't torture him TOO much. It was just really cute. Every time he actually swam he would just spin in the water and make a beeline for the shore. It was super cute. Plus when he WAS swimming, we could pick up him up out of the water and his legs would keep pumping. It was pretty freaking cute. Sadly, the camera frazzled right before we actually could've gotten pics of him IN the water. *cry*

Gus and Sabriel's Fetishes, and Big Z's Goodbye.

We finally figured Gus out. He likes used toys. Therefore, we got him a couple toys from Goodwill, and he's been totally crazy for them. We got him a small gray teddy bear, which he promptly tore the eyes and nose off, and a Clifford dog that wags it's tail,, moves it's tongue and ears, and barks. He loves it, except when it moves. lol
Here's Gus with the teddy bear:

Sabriel likes shoes. It's just her thing, though she tries to be nonchalant about it. Silly girl.

So on monday I took Gus with me up to Meghan's house in Ridgefield. He met four new doggies, a chocolate lab named Toby, a Chow mix name Uzi, a Corgi named Frankie the Tank, and a bimbo- I mean, Bichon/coton- named Gigi.
He LOVED playing with them all.

Here's Gus and his new girlfriend, Uzi.

At one point Gigi stole Toby's tennis ball and wouldn't give it back, but he was a great sport about it.

They did get tired, and the large three crashed for a short breather beneath a large Oak.

Friday night I went out to spend some time with the Old Man. Do you know who hard it is to get a pic with a massive Arabian? It's hard. Especially when he's more interested in the carrots you brought out for him. [and when you're trying not to cry.] (My mom requested a picture of me with him before tuesday...)
My dad had to meet the vet that day... Apparently it wasn't easy for him, either. It still hasn't fully sunken in that he's gone. I guess I'm trying not to let it. It was bad enough when it sunk in that it was going to happen...

Doggie Day Camp

Gus got to go to Doggie Day Camp today because Jake and I both had to go to work at 10am and no one was going to be home till 4, at the earliest. So he came with me to work and had lots of fun playing with the big dogs AND the small dogs! When I got there at 10am, I immediately had an hour of Big Dog Day Camp, so Gus came with me in there. It was CRAZY! We had about 14 big dogs in camp and most of which were labs or goldens and completely insane. Gus coped very well and only growled a little at first. Then, once he got used to the big doggies (and stopped trying to crawl into my lap) he had lots of fun sniffing every butt in the room.

Then at 11 I had an hour of small dog day camp, so the two of us switched over, and Gus LOVED it. He was still shy at first, but after the hour, the lunch break, and by the time I got back into small dog at 3, he was having a blast! He made a new friend, Roxy the Westie, who belongs to one of my co-workers. They had lots of fun tumbling and growling and wrestling. They took turns being submissive and letting the other jump on top of them and chew on them. It was adorable! And Erin, Roxy's Mommy, even did me the favor of making a "Pawgress Report" for Gus, which is now residing comfortably on our fridge.

Overall Gus had a blast, and everyone loved having him in camp. Though he can't go very often since it's nearly $15 for just the technical "Day Care" (which is supposed to be just half an hour of group play) and we can't really afford that very often.
Luckily for us, though not for Gus, I managed to pick up a new battery for Skipper's old bark collar. Hopefully that'll train our baby quickly and we won't have to use it very often.

Till Next time!

P.S. Jake and I just got back from FINALLY seeing Star Trek in theaters and it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Absolutely fantastic! Leonard Nimoy was even in it! It was awesome...I asked Jake if we could see it again, but he said we'd buy it...*sigh* It's a movie that I could probably enjoy beating my record for Most Times Seen In The Theater with. (Current record is The Two Towers, with 7 viewings in theaters. ^_^ )

Life's been CRAZY!

It's been a while because life has been incredibly hectic and stressful. We signed our lease on the 19th of may, and I've been taking two classes and working two jobs, so my weekly schedule has been something like this:
Mon- Work for vet
Tues- Classes
Wed- Work for vet
Thurs- Class
Fri- work for PetSmart
Sat- Work for PetSmart
Sun- Work for PetSmart
Repeat.

So i moved in on the 19th, (Well, I started sleeping here and moving boxes as often as possible over) and we moved Sabbie in shortly after. She was upset because I'd left her, but once she moved in she was thrilled. She quickly claimed the place as her own. Including our brand new bed. The furniture and boys moved in on the 25th, memorial day. Ever since the place has been in a state of chaos. I've been in a constant state of doing laundry since everything Jake brought over and one of my baskets full needed washed. ANd Jake has a lot of clothes. Plus I've been doing laundry whenever we have a loads' worth.

At some point Meghan and I went dress shopping with Bree, and she actually got her dress! (I got a lot more pics than shown here, but she'd kill me if I posted them all, so I just put up a tidbit.) The dress she bought is not shown here, but hopefully I'll be able to get some pics on her big day and then I can post those.

Then on the 4th of June, Gus moved in. We bought him a kennel, tags, etc and got him a vet exam. He still needs his vaccines updated, but we're waiting till tuesday to do that because his probably haven't expired yet and we'll actually have TIME on tuesday. Sabbie was NOT pleased. She hid under the bed for the first day then came out on occasion, hoping he'd left, I'm assuming, only to be disappointed. Though I'm sure she'll assert her dominance in time. In fact, she's been settling on the top of the couches and monitoring him within her space.

This sunday we're having a housewarming party/potluck/BBQ/what ever you want to call it. It's at 7 and hopefully everything will go well. We've never really thrown a party before, so it's gonna be kinda crazy, but I don't have any big worries.

Beach Trip

Gus had lots of fun cuddling on Cannon Beach.

He really enjoyed the cuddling part.

He got to smell all kinds of interesting things like seaweed, starfish, anenames, and urchins.

He loved getting to use his Flexi-lead and run on the beach with us.

He got to smell saltwater.

But didn't seem to care for it much...

There was a lot of running. He really liked getting to go for a quick dash with Daddy.

Then turn around and rocket back to Mommy. :-)

He even enjoyed crawling around in the beach grass on the dunes.

And there was more cuddling.

In the end he was really pooped, and used the long car ride to recoup some of his energy.

I didn't get pictures of it, regrettably, but we also took him to Oswald West where we climbed rocks and saw lots of tidepools. Also, Gus met lots of new people and pets in downtown Cannon Beach. He even got to go in a shop called Puppy Love where he got treats from the employee and actually met someone who had an inkling of his oh-so-random breed! (And we got a doormat there for our new place, it says "The home of a Loyal and Spoiled Rescued Dog." With an adorable picture of some dogs on a couch on it. It was just right. )

In other news, Jake, Ryan and I are signing the lease for our new apartment on May 19th!!!! I'll be sure to get pics of the new place asap, but for now you'll just have to believe me when I say, IT'S GOING TO ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
More later. :-)
